Valley Art Center invites artists and designers to submit wearable art for Crafted Couture: A Wearable Art Showcase, an exhibition celebrating the bold intersections of fashion, function, and fine art. Artists are invited to submit up to three original, fully constructed works of wearable art. This showcase will run concurrently with Accessibility in Fashion, a design-sketch-based exhibition focused on inclusive fashion.
All entries must be original works designed to be worn on the human body. Pieces may span disciplines, including textile, fiber, sculpture, metalwork, and mixed media. Entries will be juried for creativity, craftsmanship, and concept.
Entry Fee: $15 a piece, up to three (3) pieces per artist
VAC keeps 40% commission on the selling price of all artwork that is sold.
| Fiber/Textiles (A) | Garments or accessories primarily made using fabric, textile manipulation, sewing, weaving, or other fiber-based methods. |
| Sculptural Wearables (B) | Pieces with a structural or conceptual focus, including sculptural forms worn on the body, costume-inspired works, or pieces with rigid frameworks. |
| Jewelry/Adornments (C) | Wearable works such as jewelry, body ornaments, or accessories primarily made of metal, resin, mixed media, or non-fabric materials. |
| Technology-Integrated Wearables (D) | Wearables incorporating digital media, lights, sound, or interactive elements. |
| Upcycled/Found Material Wearables (E) | Garments or accessories made with repurposed, recycled, or unconventional materials. |
| Performance-Based or Conceptual Wearables (F) | Wearables that are part of a performance, conceptual work, or that challenge traditional notions of clothing and fashion. |
| Mixed Media/Other (G) | Works that do not fit neatly into another category or use a wide range of materials and approaches. |

Entering artwork submissions
After logging in or creating a new account, you will Add a new submission. You will fill out the form with Category, Title, Dimensions (height, width, and depth), Sale price (all work entered must be for sale for this exhibit), and Medium for your first artwork submission. You will then pay your entry fee and upload an Attachment that is the photo of your artwork. If you would like to enter more than one work of art, please upload and pay for each entry separately.
